Installing the ODBC Driver for Juris Versions 2.0 or Higher
Take the following steps to install the ODBC driver:
- Click Start on the Windows® Taskbar to open the Start Menu.
- Select Control Panel to open the Control Panel window.
- Double-click Administrator Tools and Data Sources (ODBC) to open the ODBC Data Source Administrator window.
- Click the User DNS tab.
- Click the Add button to open the Create New Data Source window.
- Select SQL Server from the Select a driver for which you want to setup a data source list.
- Click Finish to open the Create a Data Source to SQL Server window.
- Assign a unique Data Source Name in the Name field.
- Enter a Description in the Description field.
- Select your SQL Server from the Server drop-down list.
- Click Next.
- Select With SQL Server authentication using a login ID and Password entered by the User.
- Click to check the Connect to SQL Server to obtain default settings for the addition configuration options box.
- Enter JurisRPT in the Login ID field.
- Leave the Password field blank.
NOTE: If you cannot log in with ID JurisRPT, use these IDs and passwords: - ID: JurisRPT2 Password: JurisRPT2
- ID: JurisRO Password: Juris58747
If you receive the message Connection Failed: SQLState: 28000 SQL Server Error: 18456 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver] [SQL Server] Login Failed for User, use Utility to Reset JurisRPT2 Login Information to reset the JurisRPT2 ID and Password. - Click Next.
- Click to check the Change the default database to: box.
- Select the Juris Database from the Change the default database to: list.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish to open the ODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setup window.
- Click Test Data Source to test your database connection and open the Test Results window.
NOTE: If your settings are correct, the Test Results window prompts a Test Completed Successfully message. Check your settings if you receive the Test Failed! message. - Click OK to close the Test Results window.
- Click OK to close the ODBC Microsoft SQL Server Setup window.
- Click OK to close the ODBC Data Source Administrator window.
- Click X to close the Control Panel.
